- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Recently brought in with severe stomach pain , after being poked and prodded by the rudest surgeon I have ever met I was put onto the gynaecology Ward near Florence portal house as they had no beds. It was the weekend and I did not see a single doctor all weekend as all too busy . Finally got taken for an ultrasound which showed my appendix was abnormal and I did infact have appendicitis. Was given antibiotics and after 2 days was told they wouldn’t be removing my appendix so I requested that someone did a laparoscopy to take it out as it would only flare up again . Was told a surgeon would come and speak to me . No body came, I was NIl By Mouth for 4 days at this point and felt so weak and dehydrated. The following morning I heard staff arguing about me at the nurses station in regards to my care . I then heard one of the doctors say ‘ I’m not dealing with it ‘ and walked off !! At this point I politely asked a nurse to remove my canula so I could leave . I lost all trust with the staff and genuinely felt my health was in jeopardy and nobody cared or wanted to look after me . I now have Bupa and within 2 weeks of contacting a consultant , after some quick tests removed my inflamed appendix and I received exceptional care at the Wessex Nuffield from start to Finish . They were shocked that my appendix hadn’t been removed previously given the state of it. This Hospital is a liability and because of the lack of care made me so poorly . My appendix was about to burst yet nobody seemed capable or even wanted to perform a standard Appendicectomy , instead fobbing me off with antibiotics and ignoring me for hours . It’s not acceptable and I have lost my confidence in this appalling Hospital.by Emma KinsmanSeptember 15, 2017
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I have had 2 trips to A&E with my daughter in the past 2 weeks and the nursing staff have been amazing both times. They are so patient, put my child at ease and have been so kind.
